Ken Reid Photography takes your privacy very seriously.

We respect your personal information and will only ask you for information that we really need from you to allow us to provide you with any services or information that you have requested.

We will protect your data in same way that we would want our own data to be protected keeping it secure at all times. We will only share your data with others where it is needed to deliver our service to you (such as our professional printing laboratory, newsletter email services that we use, our customer database hosting company who maintain and protect our private information.

We will never share your information in any other circumstances.

This privacy policy has been prepared in line with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which promotes fairness and transparency for all individuals in respect of their personal data.

The Data We Collect

As a data controller we collect a variety of data in order to deliver our services. We will manage your personal data transparently, fairly and securely.

We will record the date of birth for all persons under the age of 13 that we photograph. A parent or legal guardian will need to sign consent to the photography of children under the age of 13.

As a photographic business we also create and manage images as set out our contractual agreements.

When you visit our website we also collect cookies. These are small pieces of data that websites send to a user’s computer and are stored on the user’s web browser. They are designed to enable the website to remember information, such as what a user might have put in a shopping cart for example. This helps us personalise your experience.

Which third parties do we share Personal Data with?

We share personal data with the following third parties:

Photographic Printing Services : We do not normally share your information with print services. It is not our normal practice to despatch products to customers directly from the printers.

Database Providers: Light Blue Software (101 Teversham Drift, Cambridge CB1 3LL)

Light Blue Software provide an on line database service. All Ken Reid Photography customer records are held on a private database hosted by Light Blue Software.

Data is not transferred outside of the European Economic Area.

Email providers: Mail Chimp, Mad Mimi ;  

These services are sometimes used to send emails or newsletters from Ken Reid Photography. Your email address and name is stored on a protected account only accessible by and for the sole use of Ken Reid Photography.

Data for these email providers may be transferred outside of the European Economic Area to United States under the protection of EU/US Privacy Shield.

Other Situations: There are also certain situations in which we may share access to your personal data without your explicit consent; for example, if required by law, to protect the life of an individual, or to comply with any valid legal process, government request, rule or regulation.

How do we keep your personal data secure?

We keep your data secure by following internal policies of best practice and training for staff, by using TLS (transport layer security) encryption technology when information is submitted to us online. (https web site, https payment web portal).

In the unlikely event of a criminal breach of our security we will inform the relevant regulatory body. If your personal data were involved in the breach, we will also inform you.

While we do not hold personal data any longer than we need to. The duration will depend on your relationship with us, and whether it is ongoing. We may keep some of your personal data for up to 7 years as required by current tax legislation. Image files and relevant contact details are normally held indefinitely (dependent on storage limitations) in case you request re-prints at a later date.
